Spring Activities to Enjoy with Your Grandchildren

Posted on by admin

Any time that you can spend with your grandkids is to be cherished, but when you can finally enjoy the outdoors again after a few cold months, the time is extra special. Whether it’s a classic family activity like going to a baseball game or a unique experience like visiting the farmer’s market, you and your grandchildren are guaranteed to have a good time.

Here are 5 spring activities you can enjoy with your grandkids.

Do Some Gardening

Spring is here and the flowers are in bloom! It’s a magical time, and one that can be fun to share with your grandchildren.  Not only is it enjoyable for children to get a close look at plants and get their hands dirty, but it can also be an educational experience for them. Kids learn how plants grow, and if you have a fruit or vegetable garden they can develop an appreciation for the origin and value of food.

Go to a Baseball Game

Ah, the quintessential American springtime experience; you might have enjoyed this with your own parents or grandparents! Eat hotdogs and Cracker Jacks, teach them the rules, root for a team. You don’t even have to take them to a Major League game; Minor League, college, or even high school games can be just as fun (and cheaper!).

Take a Trip to the Zoo

The zoo is always a hit, and what better time to go than spring? Spend time with your grandkids’ favorite animals, see a show, stop by the petting zoo, and maybe finish the day off with a stuffed animal from the gift shop as a reminder of your special day together.

Explore the Farmer’s Market

This would be a great activity to pair with gardening. Farmer’s markets offer a plethora of sights, sounds, and tastes. Your grandkids can learn about locally-grown fruits and vegetables, you can sample some food together, and maybe they’ll even learn to like a new vegetable!

Camp in your own Backyard

This is the kind of special experience that kids remember. Dust off your tents and gear, grab your sleeping bags, and set up camp in your backyard. Bring snacks and have some ideas for games. Make it a real camping experience with s’mores! (You may have to “cheat” and go inside for that.)

Spending time with your grandkids should never be put on the back burner due to vertigo. DiVertigo is a doctor-recommended natural vertigo remedy that starts working fast, doesn’t cause drowsiness or other side effects, and has a simple application: just rub a little behind your ears. With DiVertigo, spend less time in discomfort and more quality time with your loved ones.
